The all-new Mazda5 looks unlike any other people carrier. Inspired by wave forms found in nature, its stylish lines suggest air or water flowing over the car's surface.

Details like the Mazda family face, the new D-pillar design and the horizontal rear lamps make it look more like a sporty hatchback than a practical 7-seater family car.

Intelligent features include power operated sliding doors that open and close by remote control (Sport grade), making them easy to operate. There's also a new touch sensor that prevents passengers and objects from being trapped between the power sliding doors.

The 'Karakuri' seats fold effortlessly into various seat arrangements to allow the most flexible transportation of passengers and luggage. You'll also find that access to the third row of seats is far easier than you'll find in any other 7-seater.

All Mazda's are driver's cars and the all-new Mazda5 is no exception. A more rigid body helps create a feeling of oneness - a more active and responsive relationship between car and driver. This sense is accentuated by the new interior design which flows around the driver, ready to be used in an easy and intuitive way. The car's heightened strength also makes the new Mazda5 feel safer and more secure.

You might expect a car as safe and well-equipped as the all-new Mazda5 to be thirstier. Not so. Fuel consumption levels across the Mazda5 range have been improved, as have C02 emission levels, making it an excellent choice for the environmentally conscious. The lightweight and frugal 1.6 Diesel engine produces an impressive 115ps and CO2 emissions of just 138g/km, putting it in Tax Band B2. The engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and it meets the current Euro5 emissions standards.
